Chris Duncan not starting?

Postby Cobra_Kai » Sun Apr 01, 2007 8:16 pm

What's up with this? He's not in the lineup for tonight...I thought he was starting in OF, batting in front of Pujols?

I don't have Duncan on my fantasy team, but I don't see how any of the Cards OF replacements for him will do any better against lefties????????????????????????????????????

That's what we all think, but nobody can get inside La Russa's mind. Strange man. :-b

Given that they were also concerned about his defense, I guess Toguchi showed that he's no Chris Duncan in LF

Taguchi looks bad in the OF too. I think sooner rather than later Duncan will be starting everyday. It's kinda silly to sit him like this.

Is there a reason that they put up 4 other pinch hitters instead of Duncan? I understand he's an outfielder but they pinch hit for Edmonds and let Wilson swing at nothing all game when it could have mattered. I hope this changes soon.

Yep, I noticed that too. Ridiculous in my mind. And he's even got his father on the bench. I guess the Cards just don't care much for Duncan

This comes from LaRussa being a tool. His black book says that young lefties cannot possibly improve against lefthanded pitchers, therefore they shouldn't be allowed to try (see: Drew, J.D.)

Wilson and Taguchi have no business making the Royals, let alone a team with playoff aspirations.

In a few weeks, Taguchi and Wilson will be exposed as completely worthless and LaRussa will have no choice but to start Duncan against lefties. Encarnacion will be back soon enough to provide a decent RH bat (against lefties, he sucks against righties), that could free LaRussa up to take a chance by putting Duncan in. Or at least that will be his rationale, nobody could possibly suck any more than Preston Wilson....except for So Taguchi.

Duncan will get his ABs in due time.
