The Orioles play vs. Johan tomorrow night. If you had Brian Roberts, or Nick Markakis, but on the bench, you had J.Barfield and E.Byrnes facing non-Johan's; are you telling me you wouldn't at least consider benching your Orioles?

Well Im not simply benching him because he is facing a good pitcher, but his numbers are just awful against Kazmir.

It's a little deeper than just a batter facing a good pitcher usually. If you really want to get into it, you should look at lifetime stats against that pitcher or that team. Some hitters just have a good pitcher or bullpen figured out. It would also be wise to look at where they're playing, as that could affect numbers.

Essentially, it's not really worth all the effort unless its a close matchup in H2H on a Sunday or the playoffs. There's too many games in baseball to do that all the time. Unlike football, an off-day from one hitter usually won't make too much of a difference.
