Tampa Bay Closer...Al Reyes?

Postby Y`s Guy » Sat Mar 31, 2007 7:40 pm

With Seth McLung and Chad Orvella being demoted to AAA it looks like this guy, Al Reyes, may get some chances. I'm bitin' as I never draft two stud closers ever. I always get a stud and then hope for something decent in round 15 or so. Here, I see a aged veteran who had an excellent 2005. Not sure where he was last season.

"I really want him to be great and fine and well," Rays manager Joe Maddon said. "I've seen him throw the ball well the entire spring. . . . I'm really confident he's going to be fine, I really am. It's kind of a neat thing because I respect him as a professional, and I think he adds a lot to our group."

I'll take the old geezer. What the heck.

It'll be closer by committee (as bad as RBBC). Juan Salas should be the favorite as the season progresses I think.

Yeah, totally agree. If Lidge pulls off numbers like last season, wheeler is right there to take his spot and with Capps, there`s no knowing how long Torres is going to keep his job. Both have changes so keep a sharp eye out.
