I figured I'd give this a bump to see if anybody is reading anything noteworthy. :-)

I just picked up the revised edition of The Gunslinger, the first book in Stephen King's The Dark Tower series and so far I love it.

The Man in Black is a true bad@$$...I can't wait to finish this and read the others in the series. ;-D ;-D

So, anyone else?

Just discovered Jasper Fforde's The Eyre Affair. Much fun (imagine a quirkier, less depressing Jack Womack), and his other two are already sitting on the shelf waiting to be read.

His network of web sites is pretty entertaining, too - right down to the ads. :-)

First of all, I need to give a mention to one of my all time favorites:

Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy.

Douglas Adams book is a once evry other year read. Easily one of the funniest books Ive ever had the pleasure of comming across.

On a much deeper note, Guns, Germs, and Steel by Jared Diamond is interesting.

Lastly, I am a huge soccer (football) fan, and I just got The History of Soccer - the dvd set. Absolutely brilliant. The way it shows the development of the sport in different social, political, economic, and geological settings is enthralling. This is similar to the Baseball series that was recently on PBS a couple years ago, but with a larger emphasis on how the sport helped shape so many cultures. Almost a must see for history buffs.

Guns Germs and steel is awesome. I'm currently reading "insect dreams'. The story of Gregos Samsa picked up from where Kafka left it in Metamorphosis.

A fellow Stephen King fan. :-) ;-D

I'll be reading "Wolves of the Calla" as soon as I can. Nice to know that he's actually finished the series. He always said that he would probably die before he could complete the Dark Tower series. Morbid thought, but what else would you expect from him. Lol. :-D

Agreed, Ender's Game is an awesome book.

Yup, that last post was me. I need to fix my computer.

It was ok - the sequels were terrible though.

I just reread Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy - classic.
