Is Brandon Phillips going to see any time at SS?

Postby seniorpaul » Sat Mar 31, 2007 5:03 pm

Earlier in the offseason, i had read that there was a chance that Brandon Phillips may see some time at SS this year. Any updates about this? Has he played there at all in ST?

The early speculation was that the Reds were going to move B. Phillips to short and keep Rich Aurilia and Ryan Freel at second base. The team was unable to resign Aurilia and has since signed Alex Gonzalez. The Reds are optimistic about A-Gon's defense. If he needs a rest, I expect to see Juan Castro fill in at shortstop.

Plus, I don't think that Phillips has seen any ST time at SS.
