if i recall correctly from surfing last year, dobrow is one of these guys who has a job because he stirs the pot...he is to be read for entertainment purposes only, and for even that purpose, he's pretty much worthless...

Wright is a star, but he ain't 20 rounds better than Akinori Iwamura or Kevin Kouzmanoff.
He most certainly is 20 rounds better than a career minor leaguer and a mediocre Japanese bat.
Kouzmanoff went to college, and started in the minors after that. He then logged 4 years in the minors. Other players start earlier because they don't go to, or don't complete, college. Four years in the minors hardly make a guy a "career minor leaguer." By my count, even the illustrious Matt Holliday spent 6 years in the minors.
Don't simply look at age of major-league arrival to predict talent. I only make this point because I've seen this erroneous argument made against other players.

Exactly. 3B is a very deep position, so why is Wright 20 rounds better than him?

Because there are few like Wright and many like Iwamura/Kouz(who isn't even 3b elig).
Come on. Kouz had very few games, so don't pull the 3B eligible argument. He will get it before the end of the week, so that argument won't go anywhere.

If H. Matsui was hitting 40 and 50 HR every year, what is 35?
I guess the point is there is a plethora of potentially second rate 3Bs, while relatively few 1st rate 3Bs.

Few like Wright? Seems to me there are a bunch of guys who can go 30/100 with some steals. Most of them play a shallower position making them even more valuable. Even at 3B there's 4 or 5 guys who have a good numbers all around.
