Rumor: Damian Miller to the A's

Okay, so it may not be the most interesting rumor, but it's a rumor nonetheless.

So let's see, the A's acquire Barrett from the Expos for a PTBNL, then trade Barrett to the Cubs for a PTBNL. Rumors on 680 KNBR SF Sports Radio are that the Cubs will ship Damian Miller to the A's if they sign Barrett (I guess he's up for arbitration?).

Miller?

Not sure what Beane is doing on this one. My guess is that he slipped into the middle of a Cubs/Expos deal that was brewing so that he could acquire a catcher. Or something. Who knows.

Fantasy-wise, not too much news here. Miller drops even lower, if he was even on anyone's radar anyway. Barrett might be worth a look, but let's face it, we're talking late-round material here.

If the Cubs don't get I-rod, I don't know that I want Miller gone really. Though he's almost an automatic out at the plate, he has a years' experience with the staff -- who will carry us if we indeed make the playoffs again.

I don't want Javy Lopez for 3-4 years. I'd rather have Barrett as our starting catcher.
