10 Team League, 6X6 Roto, 4 keeper players - any thoughts?

Postby MrToilet » Sat Mar 31, 2007 12:19 pm

My league did a draft this week, 10 team, 4 keeper players from last year. After winning last year's roto league by 34 points, I got the last pick in our snake draft, and here's what I ended up with:

My keepers were Pujols, Rollins, Carpenter, BJ Ryan.

1B: Pujols, Prince Fielder
2B: Kendrick (Figgins has eligibility, also drafted)
3B: Beltre, Alex Gordon
SS: Rollins
OF: Holliday, T. Hunter, Baldelli, Alou

SP: Carpenter, C. Zambrano, Bonderman, Beckett, Dave Bush
RP: BJ Ryan, F. Cordero, Dotel, Broxton, Zumaya

My initial impression was that I need another big bat, and maybe trading Zambrano or Bonderman for it. I have a lot of potential, but I'm worried about consistent production from my hitters.

Thanks for any input!

My only worries come from Beltre if Gordon doesn't produce.

I'd deal Bonderman for a big bat. I think Zambrano will produce big since he's on a one-year deal.

Thanks for the help

Pretty good lineup. When Figgins returns, you're gonna have to keep someone with value on the bench.

Looking at 1B, Pujols has a ton of value while Fielder is expected to have a big year. If you're feeling brave enough, try dangling Pujols to see if you can get somebody to overpay. He can't be #1 every year, can he?

3B seems to be your biggest liability until Figgins is back. I wouldn't look to keep Beltre in your lineup except as a safety valve. Gordon is a gamble, but may pay off big time.

Update, lots of waiver moves:

Postby MrToilet » Sat Apr 28, 2007 8:42 am

After the first month, I have the most waiver moves in my league- but I'm also in first, so that's happy.

Categories are:
R, HR, RBI, SB, BA, OPS
W, L, SV, K, ERA, WHIP

I'm wanting a few more HR's and RBI's, so who should I try to trade? My initial thought is still one of my top 3 starters, since I have a little depth there.

Here's my roster:
C- R. Martin
1B - Pujols
2B - K. Johnson
3B - BJ Upton
SS - Rollins
OF - Holliday, Hamilton, Hunter
Util - Fielder
Bench - Alex Gordon, Eric Byrnes
DL - Kendrick, Figgins, Iwamura

SP - Bonderman, Zambrano, Beckett, Bush, Colon, Lincecum (I'm hoping!)
RP - F. Cordero, Frasor, Torres (ugh), Soria, Capps
DL - Ryan, Carpenter

Thanks!
