I'm just not really sure what to do at the catcher position. Will Javy produce anything close to what he did last year? What will Pudge do this year? A lot of it depends obviously on where they end up. Do you guys think that Piazza will rebound? Just a couple of things to mull over...... If I had to rank them myself I would say

1. Posada
2. Lopez
3. Pudge
4. Piazza
5. Kendell/Pierz/Lieberthal

I'm not really sure about that last spot at all. What do you guys think?

Varitek is definitely a good call. I had forgotten about him.

pkarr,

Not a big fan of Javy? Do you think he's getting too old?

Posada
Piazza
Pudge
Lopez
the rest

I think Piazza is due for a big rebound. Even if they play him at 1B he will still be Catcher eligible!

Posada
Piazza
Pudge

THEN A BIG DROP TO:

Lopez (depending on situation; could drop further)
Varitek
et all
If I were playing third base and my mother were rounding third with the run that was going to beat us, I'd trip her. Oh, I'd pick her up and brush her off and say, 'Sorry, Mom,' but nobody beats me.

Next year.

1. Pudge(out of Florida is a good thing)
2. Posada(Pretty steady. Usually declines late)
3. Lopez(just the way he hit everyone last year, I can't buy he's gonna totally drop off)
4. Piazza(Used to be easy number 1)
5. Lieberthal/Varitek(New Phillie stadium maybe bolster Liebs already good stats. Can't overlook Varitek on a free agent year in a potent lineup)

Really starting to believe Piazza's on a very steady decline. He's done nothing for me for two years straight. I'm not gonna show much confidence in him this year
