First Year Keeper Team...Bunch of Studs or Duds? WHIR!

Like to hear ur thoughts! Just drafted in an ultra-competitive first year keeper. 28 rounds, mixed, standard 5x5, roto league.

Almost all teams stocked up on offense early, but I stayed true to my pre-rankings, so I think I got pretty good value w/ my pitchers. I like my team, but IMO could use a legit #2 outfielder, and maybe a little more speed.

Your OF and 3B situation is pretty bad for 12 teamer. The OF especially, is filled with old, injury prone geezers. Your offense is only decent for a 12 teamer. Pitching is fairly solid though. You're going to need to swing some trades to upgrade that OF though, its pretty bad.

Your team looks solid overall, but I think the OF is the weakest link on your team. I expect Ethier to have a good year so I would try to fit him into that lineup. Try upgrading with a package of Alou or Griffey + Willis or Contreras and see what you can get in return (like a Rios/Markakis/Cuddyer... who knows). That way you still retain 3 "big" starters along with Glavine and either Willis or Contreras.

Good team, your OF isnt the greatest. its like bay, then a huge drop to your next OF. if i were you since your INF is amazing i'd try and package maybe a Overbay and a Kearns for a more sure thing OF, i agree try to target a markakis or a cuddyer. I like your balance and i really think your team is solid besides the OF issue. You have a sure thing C in Posada and an up and coming C in Paulino. I like OCab, but i would again try to package him with a OF to upgrade at OF. For a deep 12 teamer i think your IF is pretty stacked. now to your pitching

I love K-rod as your RP anchor, but i really dont like gagne. He's already on the DL and has a great backup in Otsuka who could easily take his job. I'd pay attention to the WW for closers from teams like TB, Cincy and other teams who dont have a sure thing at closer. I like your SP, you have a great top three in Webb, Smoltz, DIce-k and then Dontrelle, i think will have a bounceback year. I think you may have reached on Dice-K a bit and probably couldve gotten a more sure thing SP.

overall, i say its a pretty balanced and good team for a deep 12 teamer. how many keepers is it? im guessing about 5, if thats so who do you plan on keeping?

-M Young
-K-Rod
-Webb

W/ Dice-K as a big time wild card. I think he could be dominant right away.
