Why so low on Melvin Mora?

3-year stats show more AB, fewer results... isn't there a saying like "the trend is your friend," or something like that?

2004: 550 AB, .340/.419/.562, 27 HR, 104 RBI
2005: 593 AB, .283/.348/.474, 27 HR, 88 RBI
2006: 624 AB, .274/.342/.391, 16 HR, 83 RBI

he's quite an interesting case. he slugged .386 in 3069 minor league at bats over parts of 11 seasons. he broke out at age 32 to the tune of .340/.419/.562. the guy's career average in every other season works out to .268. i wanted no part of him this year, but i always wondered what clicked in 2004

Mora is now mediocre at best and on the downside of his career at a relatively deep fantasy position. He's not on any of my teams right now as I think his best days are well past him.

Im not high on him, but he is going awfully low in draft, sometimes not drafted at all...

I think he can muster 90 R, 15 HR, 75 RBI, 10 SB and a .275 AVG

Thats not too shaby for a bench spot at the end of your draft

yea he still deserves to be drafted in deep leagues with 12 or more teams. i have him as my CI in 1 league, took him at around 260th pick. most decent CI's were gone at that point, so it made sense. i do like the fact that he will steal you about 15 bases.
