I really choked during our live draft this year. It's ESPN default 5x5 10 team roto:

C Joe Mauer
1B Adrian Gonzalez
2B Rickie Weeks
3B Alex Rodriguez
SS Derek Jeter
OF Jeff Francoeur
OF Raul Ibanez
OF Torii Hunter
UTIL Gary Matthews Jr.
Bench Ray Durham
Bench Shea Hillenbrand
Bench Nelson Cruz
Bench Chris B. Young

PITCHERS:
Jake Peavy
Ben Sheets
Jonathan Papelbon
Scott Kazmir
J.J. Putz
Brad Penny

Pitching Bench :
Akinori Otsuka
DL Kenny Rogers

What do you think? Is this a hopeless cause?

It's definitely not hopeless.

If your OF can perform to expectations or above then your golden. Hunter, Ibanez and Francouer can most definitely get it done when they are playing right. I really like your IF and Gonzalez; Hillenbrand could also do some good in the middle of the Angels' lineup but that remains to be seen.

Your pitching staff is solid with Peavy, Sheets and Kazmir. Putz is going through some issues with his arm but you have Otsuka, who should be closing for the first few weeks, to fill in for the time being.

Are there any options in FA?

All closers are gone, but I'll be watching for new guys like a hawk throughout the season.

I haven't had the chance to go to deep looking for OF help but the top of the list for OF goes:

Brian Giles
Curtis Granderson
Luis Gonzalez
Randy Winn
Jay Payton
Juan Encarnacion
Garret Anderson
Austin Kearns
Jacque Jones
Shawn Green

of your list i like granderson and kearns. payton is hurt and not a fav of mine anyway. being a ten team league you should find some good replacments as the season moves on. there is always someone who will give up on stud players too early. your team has potential don't give up on it.

You've lucked out with the bullpen in the past week.

Papelbon, Putz, Otsuka are 3 damn fine closers!
Win 2 more and then we'll talk.
