Anyone have anything interesting to say about the D-Backs closer situation? Will Valverde get the job back when comes back, or will they let Aquino keep closing?

As far as Valverde, there is a school of thought that they will not risk useless injury by letting him pitch again this season, but if he returns to health, I don't see why they wouldn't want to get him back in there to close a few more games simply so that they can better gauge whether of not he is the long-term answer.

I hear Affeldt's coming back in 3 weeks...any truth to that, or better news than that?

News: The Kansas City Star reports that Jeremy Affeldt (rib cage) tested his injury by throwing a 33-pitch bullpen workout Tuesday. "He reported no pain or discomfort in the oblique area," said trainer Nick Swartz. "More than anything else, Jeremy Affeldt is getting his throwing arm back in shape."

Analysis: Affeldt has been sidelined since June 26. He is hopeful of returning by mid-August.
