The Yankees are the only team that would get screwed by MLB in a similar situation. Any other team will be able to get something agreed upon where they can complete their deals. In this case, I'd expect Boston to bite the bullet and pay a little more than what A-Rod restructered his deal for.
A Boston world with an angry Nomar and an angry Manny would be too ideal. It won't happen, especially after all the good moves Boston has made this off-season. So if you're worried the deal won't go through, don't be.
The biggest problem I have with the deal so far is that the player's association is getting involved. According to them, a player can't give up too much that way in doesn't affect the other players. Who are they to say how much money a World Series ring is worth? If Arod agrees to change his contract, the Rangers are willing to trade him, and Boston is willing to pay the revised contract, then why should the player's association even stick their noses in it?
Oh, and I'm neither a Yankees or Red Sox fan. My team is the Rangers. No pitching at all, but I still root for them.

I can't believe the MLBPA stuck their nose in it either. Neither can 90% of baseball fans that care.
Actually, if we can move Arod, get Manny and some pitching, then I'm all for it. Whatever it takes to make the team better.
The player's association needs to just get their noses out of the deal.

I hope they turn around and trade manny to another team! I was a ranger fan all my life up until I move to Tennessee in 1990. I've been a Braves fan for the last 13!
I would love a Braves/Rangers WS someday!

England's Worcester Canoe Club set the world record for paddling a hand-propelled bathtub. The 25 man team covered a distance of 55 miles, 425 yards in 24 hours on September 28 and 29, 1979.
