Hey everybody. Just finished my last draft of the season last night. 16 Teams, H2H Most Categories Wins, 6x6 with OBP and IP. I had 14th pick in a snake draft. Every team gets to keep 3 players taken after the 3rd round as keepers for up to 3 years. Below is my team. The number in parentheses is the round I took them.

1B Todd Helton (8)
2B Chris Burke (11)
3B Edwin Encarnacion (9)
SS Derek Jeter (2)
OF Vladimir Guerrero (1)
OF Alex Rios (5)
OF Chris Duffy (13)
UTIL Jim Thome (6)
BN Carlos Quentin (17)

SP Felix Hernandez (4)
SP Jose Contreras (12)
SP Chuck James (16)
SP Adam Loewen (18)
SP Doug Davis (20)
RP Joe Nathan (3)
RP Francisco Cordero (7)
RP Octavio Dotel (14)
RP Dustin Hermanson (15)
BN Noah Lowry (19)
BN Jaret Wright (21) Will be dropped for Helms or Hermida

Pretty good for such a large league. Speed might be the only question mark.

I was never really high on Chris Burke, now with him batting possibly 6th in the order ... I'm not sure what he'll be able to accomplish from that spot. He would have seen some pitches batting 2nd, but in the 6th spot, who knows? I'd keep my eye on that, but overall a good roster for a 16 teamer...might want to look into working a trade for upgrades at 2B and SP...

Thanks a lot. I'm glad you said 2B and SP are my weak spots because I thought the same thing. I'm less concerned about SP because it's H2H, not too many teams have great pitching, and I'm pretty good at spotting new pitchers on waivers.

What would be an example of a good trade for me?

i would say to start quentin over duffy unless you really need some steals that week. you have a lot riding on burke and edwin, hopefully theyll pan out. your biggest problem is SP. in h2h i usually try to get two top pitchers and 2 or 3 guys that ill start based on matchups. you likely will run into some trouble with your guys. try to get some 2 for one deals going, and look into acquiring a 2b like kinsler, phillips, barfield in case burke falters

help me out

Looks like Quentin is starting the season on the DL... Why don't you like Duffy? I'm pretty high on him this year.

Having 4 closers is pretty much unheard of in this league. I don't really want to make a deal until I know Hermanson is definitely closing in Cincy but I'm thinking like Francisco Cordero for a Bonderman or Sabathia, a SP in that ballpark...

Oh, and I forgot to mention that I get 3 players taken after the 3rd round as keepers for up to 3 years. In case that affects your opinion at all...

not that i dislike duffy, i own him in one league. he'll get you some sb, but his avg probly wont be the best (hes hitting .190 this spring with an ops below .500). in h2h you really need power hitters to win, and you dont have a really good one. you said obp is a cat, and i think quentin will help you more there as well. if you could get bonderman or sabathia for cordero, def do that. but i like the idea of having 4 closers. it guarantees you saves each week and will keep your ratios low. but that makes having good starters that much more important

Fair points. Thanks. I'm starting to worry a little more about my power gap also...

Anyone else?
