Keeper Team

Postby silentjim » Fri Mar 30, 2007 12:24 am

We finished our keeper draft the other day in the Killer Crossover Keeper League and I ended up with this team. I had to go pitching, pitching, and more pitching as a strategy since I kept 6 bats and 1 pitcher. I like how my team turned out and I think it can be really competitive. Last year I came in 6th place with no pitching. The settings are 13 teams, 10 cats, and 21 players. I have a waiver in right now involving dropping DeRosa, but I won't comment on it right now since there are spies among us. Thoughts?

Your hitting is solid. And you have some nice keepers. If i was going to mess with that only good backups would be on my mind.

Your team is stacked. Maybe move a bat for a killer arm and / closer. Cordero, Otsuka/Gagne, and Benetiz may not be enough to saves. If you want to lose the cat see if you can shop them and replace them with middle relievers.

Last year I drafted Nathan and Wagner, who turned into some of the main pieces of acquiring my killer offense. I feel more confident in taking pitchers off waivers, then trading for some at this point, but we'll see shortly.

My waiver claim went through where I dropped DeRosa for Julio. I also just added Gagne to the DL and picked up Josh Johnson who I think should also get added to the DL. I need to get another bat for sure, but I'm holding out slowly. Nothing jumping out at me. Anything else seem necessary to change right now?
