Dan Johnson to DL with Hip Injury

Dan Johnson will begin the season on the disabled list after being diagnosed with torn cartilage in his left hip.
The A's will have a better idea this weekend, but he might miss as much as three months. It a tough break for Johnson, who had finished strong this spring and was ablout to become Oakland's first baseman against right-handers. Now it seems likely that Erubiel Durazo will get the nod, though his poor defense is going to be a problem. The A's will likely see what's available in trade, and because they can move Nick Swisher, they could pick up an outfielder instead of a first baseman.
