Has anyone heard about this rumor? If so, any truth to it?

Thanks

I haven't seen one credible source for this rumor and it makes no sense. Why would the Reds want him to close instead of Hermanson? He has 1 save in his whole career. Hermanson at least has a record as a closer. I don't see why any team would want him and I don't see how he has ANY value in fantasy baseball.

i'm skeptical just because there's been no mention of who the reds would give in exchange. according to this they couldn't trade him for another month and a half anyway:

Oops, someone beat me to it...

It was just reported on TSN that The Reds are looking to aquire Pineiro for thier closer. I attempted to find something on line to back it up... this is all I found courtesy of CBS sportsline.

Piñeiro had a chance at closing for the Red Sox, but that plan has gone by the wayside with Jonathan Papelbon moving back to the role. There is a rumor he might be a good fit for Cincinnati, but for now he should be avoided in all but the largest of AL-only Fantasy leagues.
