Who to avoid?

Postby PresHabib » Wed Dec 17, 2003 4:41 pm

There is a thread or two in here asking about sleepers? I'm curious as to who I should not draft and get people talking on that. Gives me a chance to say how much I hate Adam %#7@($@ Dunn too, haha. Personally, I'm expecting "lower than capable of" type performances from Dunn, new dodger Encarnacion, Javy Lopez (repeat season i don't think so) Carl Everett (Expos? GUH!) to name a few. What are everybody else's thoughts? :-)
Rest in peace Mitch Hedberg. I name my fantasy team "Buoyancy of Citrus", in your honor.

Any baltimore starting itcher....they may have a powerful lineup behind them once all is said and done, but but they still go against the rest of the AL East, which means yanks, sox and jays for a total of 57 games against those ungodly lineups...I may be a little biased because im in an AL only league where everyone on your team plays, there are no bench spots...

Under the assumption that they must have been desireable in the recent past in order to be avoidable, and not attacking the charted decline with old age, I would throw the red flag at the following offensive players: Robert Fick (he should have been better with Atlanta's amazing offense), Aaron Boone (too overrated), Shannon Stewart (" ") and Bernie Williams (will see a significant decline in ABs).

Podsednik will not come close to last year's numbers.

Good one! ;-D I always thought it was Ken Grumpy, Jr.

I'd like to add:

Vinny Castilla(even w/ the coors factor)
Braden Looper(if he lands a closer job)
Jose Guillen (i have him touted as the next Jeffrey Hammonds, right or wrong)
Travis Lee (a few people have started to re-upp him)
Fernando Vina

and my favorite guy to avoid:

Tony Batista :-t

Great list so far!
If I were playing third base and my mother were rounding third with the run that was going to beat us, I'd trip her. Oh, I'd pick her up and brush her off and say, 'Sorry, Mom,' but nobody beats me.

I don't think that Encarnacion will suffer. He's just moving from one pitcher's park to another - as a matter of fact Encarnacion has hit particularly poorly at Pro Player Stadium (.250 career average, 708 career OPS at Pro Player).

Loaiza and Dunn are obvious to me. :-)
Yes doctor, I am sick.
Sick of those who are spineless.
Sick of those who feel self-entitled.
Sick of those who are hypocrites.
Yes doctor, an army is forming.
Yes doctor, there will be a war.
Yes doctor, there will be blood.....
