One Pick - Who Do You Take?

Postby kev8821 » Thu Mar 29, 2007 3:13 am

If you had one pick in the minors (someone not in the majors yet) to put on your squad (we're allowed 1 minor league player), who do you take?

Ideally, someone who could have an impact this year. Hitter or Pitcher.

Depends on what your team needs, but I'd go with Homer Bailey, Adam Miller, Brandon Wood, or Matt Garza. Those guys will all be up this year and will make an impact.

I'd say Phillip Hughes. Easy.(This is a keeper league, right?)
Is pushing for President Obama to pass a law requiring all citizens to be Chicago White Sox fans and make October 1st "White Sox Day" where we all dress as our favorite player. It maybe socialist, but I don't care.

If it is for this year yeah id give PHughes the slight edge over HBailey

In the long run though i agree getting an everyday player with CMaybin's upside would be my choice.

BWood aint a bad pick for the future either.
Just traded BButler, BWood & JLoney for Mark Teixeira, Ryan Theriot & Renyel Pinto in a DYNASTY LEAGUE. Big gamble I know!

Ummm... why haven't you guys said Alex Gordon? He hasn't played in the majors yet.

If he is gone, and you want results this year, I would say:

Hughes
Butler
Bailey

I'd go with Butler, I've said I'll take him #3 after Gordon and Delmon when it comes to prospects.
Are you interested in joining a 28 teams dynasty league? If so, PM me.

I agree...
Not sure who I would have next though. There's a good number of young pitchers and hitters who should break through soon. Maybe looking at your roster would help.

Thanks for your input everyone. Very helpful.

I ended up adding Hughes and will keep my eye on the others as well.
