Damon 2001 (Oakland): 27 steals.

I agree Kaz and/or Reyes could have 25-30+ steals. Both are far quicker than Mr. Damon.

It's been said (albeit Joe Buck) that Johnny Damon's been close to the fastest baserunner in the majors for years, though speed, I admit, doesn't always equate to stolen bases...

Be careful taking Matsui if you're looking for power. I wouldnt look for more than 10 HR from him. He'll probably hit for average and steal 30-40 bags. He'll bat leadoff (acc to Howe) and score some runs.

As far as power, Reyes will hit more than Matsui. Mark my words. At least 15 next year and I expect Reyes will hit 20 a year in his prime as well as swiping 30-40.

Reyes will be a superstar. Bank on it. I take it you're an AL only otherwise thats a ridiculous statement.

no..i'm in a mixed league but I'd never draft a guy that could only hit 15-20 homers at the peak of his career. I have Soriano as my 2b currently....

now..with that said...

If Reyes bats .330-20-90-100-30

then i'd have him on my team but I don't think he'll do that anytime soon.. unless I missed something

That's about what's projected. But I wouldnt look for that next year.

I'd say

.300, 15 HRS, 42 SBs, 65 rbis, 85 runs

More valuable than most 2B.

ok..if he does that this year then I might give him a look for next year. I just think that he lost his value when the mets got Matsui and pushed him to 2b...

BUT for this year...he will actually be more valuable because he'll qualify for both 2b and SS..

How? 2B is shallower that SS.
