Mid Season Awards
MVP--BJ Upton--His defense has been decent but his bat in the lineup has made the difference between us being a .500 team and our normal selves. Upton is a difference maker.
Cy Young--James Shields--The only starting pitcher that we have that be counted on for 7 innings. Most of those games he has left with the lead as well.
Biggest Suprise--Iwamura has a legit major league bat. This is a huge shock to me, as I really thought he was keeping 3rd base warm until Longoria comes up. This is a huge plus for the coming years.
Biggest Dissappointment--Scott Kazmir--He has taken 2 steps back and now is closer to his 2005 self then the improving almost a stud 2006 version. He has to get it going pronto.
Biggest Team Dissapointment--Elijah Dukes and the DRO handling--I am so upset at the way this kid was treated and handled by Maddon, DRO, and the St. Pete Times. This kid had no chance at all coming into this year. And now instead of a nice surplus of outfielders to make a trade, we have a kid that we will basically have to give away.
1. A newspaper that actually follows and likes our team. We don't have that many fans in the Tampa area, we surely don't need to be running them off due to the likes of the St. Pete Times and their crap they throw in their papers.
2. The bullpen has to be fixed. A statement needs to be made and some people need to be outright released. If Maddon really wants to make a change, then let some people go. Maybe Kazmir, Stokes and some of the others with a bit of talent step it up.
3. Send out a search party for the injury bug, capture that thing, and kill it. Rocco, Upton, Iwamura among others missing significant time have really hurt.
