Pitching Question??/ Proffessional Advise

Here's a stupid question about pitchers, its my 1st season so bear with me. Are your pitchers active as long as they're not on the bench? I know their is a maximum innings count. Should i trade some of my extra bench players, their all OF'S. My OF is all set with Manny Ramirez, Ichiro and Vernon Wells. I was thinking of another closer besides Papelbon, i dont know if i trust Gagne. I just dropped SS D Eckstein and SP M Mulder to pick up some old Luggage (Pedro and Maddux). .........................Any thoughts??

If a pitcher is not on your bench any stats that he gets you get.

yes I would say trade bench hitters if you have multiple bench players at one spot.

Pedro can be nice to tuck away. not sure how much Mad Dog has left

Thanks for your input, i thought thats how it worked. I agree about Pedro if he comes back strong after his surgery. As for Maddux i figured i'd take a shot with the old dog. I only had to drop Mulder to pick him up, not a bad move i think!.......TY.....KJC
