I'm looking at dropping Proctor or Borowski perhaps for Joe Blanton or maybe Nate Robertson. Those seem to be the best SPs available on the wire as of right now. The league only allows 3 P, 2 SP, and 2 RP so I have to make due with what I've got. Dropping a bench player doesn't open up a spot on the whole roster.

this is a points league that just compiles stats all year? or is it head to head with points determining each game?

a good pitcher is putting up around 16-17ppg when they pitch. a good OF may put up 3.

pitchers pitch every 5 days. 5 x 3 = 15.

SP is 16 points over those 5 days.

do you have roster limits/games played limits, etc.?

League only allows for 2 SP, 2 RP, and 3 P. Holds are a category, which is why I've got Proctor.

when you say the league only allows 2 SP, that means that you can only have 2 SPs on your roster?

usually with yahoo leagues you can start SPs in the P category. in my free yahoo league you can.

and you can also change out your SPs daily. if there is a roster limit you shoot for 7 starts per week.

I'm looking at picking up O. Vizquel and dropping Renteria. He seems to be the best SS available on the wire. Good idea?

I like:

Big Tex to bounce back (big 2nd half of 06)
Just power on team in general - Arod, CLee, Thome, Tex, etc.

The big issue I see, you already pointed out - SS. I am not crazy about E. Rent. Also, not a whole lot of SB, like I said before I don't reach for speed either, but if you pick up O. Vizquel (Is orlando cab available by chance?) that will pick up a few SB hopefully.

12 Teams, Custom scoring

C: Posada
1B: Teixeira
2B: B. Phillips
3B: ARod (hopefully he works out this season)
SS: E. Renteria
OF: C. Lee, Dunn, Ibanez
Util: Thome
Bench: Youkilis, Willingham, Blake, Wiggington, Ensberg

SP: Harang, Bedard
RP: Ryan, Saito
P: Borowski, Gonzalez (soon to be replaced by Jorge Julio), Proctor

The only 2 I'm specifically worried about is Posada and Renteria. Any thoughts?

I love your starting offense...but I think your bench needs improvement. I would basically drop Youks, Willinham, and Blake...or at least Youks and Blake and pick up some young up and coming pitchers like Sowers or Hensley if they're avail. I would also drop Proctor some something better...there has to be something better out there in a 12 team league...there has to be.

That said...don't fret over Posada. He's still a really good fantasy catcher and it will be tough to improve without overpaying for a catcher in a trade...which is pretty much pointless.

Renteria should be solid.

If Ensberg is valued in your league...I would try to trade him and ibanez to improve over Ibanez..in my opinion he's going to go down hill...but that's just a hunch.

Good luck!

Ok, that's one vote for keeping Renteria, the rest say to get rid of him. As for Proctor, I dropped him for Blanton and am scouting other SP. Sowers isn't available, someone drafted him. I'll look for others and see what I come up with. Thanks!
