The only 2 I'm specifically worried about is Posada and Renteria. Any thoughts?
even when arod doesnt "work out" he still puts up big numbers.
i would worry about posada also...he is getting up there in age. he is in a great lineup though.
your SP is a little suspect to me but i dont know what value SP has in your league. harang is my 4th best SP on my team in my 12 team league. i like bedard this year but he is in a tough division and needs a bounce back year.
Posada's value goes up because you use BBs. He's patient and will draw more walks than most catchers. I'm a little worried about the lack of depth of your SP. I might try to go get a guy like Livan who won't cost you a lot (if anything) and will eat innings and get a couple of wins in a weak division.
I wouldn't worry about Posada...rather, I'd worry about Thome...try to sell high on him NOW. Other than that I think your team looks more than fine. Harang is underrated and Bedard is going to the AllStar game this year.
i disagree with a the post two above me....i think Thome is gonna put up great numbers this year and something tells me you stole him in your draft...
obviously, as most people have stated your pitching looks pretty weak....if your pitching is still weak a few weeks into the season check to see if any of the pitchers from the Top Prospects list have been called up (i.e. Philip Hughes..would be a bet I'd take)
I would fill every "P" spot possible with a STARTING pitcher. Given the scoring system you mentioned, it's hard to imagine a closer getting more points over the course of a season than a reasonable starter, even a WW or FA starter.
And this is NOT ROTO. Just because Holds is a category doesn't mean you should try to compete in that category. If a "holds" guy produces 100 points over the season and an SP produces 101 points, you want the SP 100% of the time. Your holds pitcher will not outproduce guys who are likely still availible at SP. Even guys like Hudson, Sowers, Igawa, Bonser, Maine, etc., who are all probably on your FA list right now, will probably earn twice as many points on their W-L record alone than any holds guy will earn in the "holds" category.
