Drafted in my primary league... what do you think?

Postby tinfoilxtouch » Wed Mar 28, 2007 12:26 am

Like the topic says, I drafted in my most important league tonight. It really is amazing how much better prepared private leagues are than public league managers. I got hosed a couple of times expecting managers to miss guys they remembered.

6x6 H2H 12 team, extra stats are OPS and K/BB

C- Laird
1b- Pujols
2b- Kent
3b- Ensberg
SS- Furcal/Rentaria
OF- Bay, Damon, Drew
Util- Morneau
Util- Laroche

SP- Cain, Capuano, Hill, Olsen, Bonser, Igawa, Doug Davis, Cliff Lee, Tim Hudson, David Wells

RP- Papelbon, Lidge

Thanks guys! Leave your link.

Kent and Ensberg suck. You have a great OF and good Util players. However, I'd trade Morneau and Ensberg for an ace and a 3B upgrade ASAP.

Thanks for replying to mine. Returning the favor.

Your team looks pretty good. Not crazy about Laird, so keep an eye on Ronny Paulino from the Pirates. I agree about not being big on Ensberg, but I'm sure you don't have that many choices. I wouldn't trade Morneau, unless you get a stud 3B and a 2nd tier SP.
Your pitching staff looks pretty good with a lot of young and promising talent (Cain, Hill, Olsen) but you do lack that frontline ace. I'm also iffy on the backend of your SPs. Wells, Lee and Hudson are big ?'s. By the way, who are your backups?

Thanks for the replies guys.

My only backup for hitting is Rentaria. My hitting has more sure-fire guys than my pitching, so I took as many prospect pitchers as possible... I'll drop the failures for a backup hitter or two.

I have a waiver request to get Iwamura right now. I think he's got a chance to make a splash this season at 3b. Between him and Ensberg, I'm banking on someone having a nice season.

Kent--gettin' too old, Ensberg--comin' off an injury that could adversely affect power, Furcal--heard he might be injured, Jason Bay got hit by a bus, Bonser shouldn't be in your lineup, Cliff Lee won't do much good, Lidge is only going to run up an enormous ERA this season.

Little help?

Thanks for the reply...Id drop renteria...I dont think he has much left and maybe you could pick up a marginal closer or stud RP for that final slot. I think your OF is very good for a 12 teamer...Is Chris Ianetta available? he may be a good catcher this year and he plays at coors!

thanks for the reply.

your OF looks good, but IF is a little iffy at 2B and 3B. I doubt there's much available right now, so I guess watch the pool closely for those. Your pitching is young and has potential. Get rid of D. Wells for a bat or P.
