Ed Jurak, a former utility infielder for the Red Sox, is best-known for catching what with his glove during a game at Fenway Park?

I think he and a guy named Stanton both caught flying hot dog wrappers during games.

Well, a lot of things find their way onto the field during games, so you may well be right. However, the thing I'm thinking of, and which has made its way into baseball lore (well, sort of), was alive, making the "catch" pretty tricky. :-D

Well, the list of live things he's liable to be catching in his glove is fairly short... I trust it's not a busty blonde or a bald eagle. Probably not a mosquito....

How about a mouse?

You're extremely close... but it wasn't exactly a mouse that he gloved. Almost, but not quite. ;-)

It was indeed a rat. This little episode made for a great clip, as you can imagine. The rat was apparently unharmed, too. :-D
