since Melky doesn't even have a starting gig (that I know of), Duncan is clearly the better choice.

I don't think Burke has the upside of Duncan, and Edmonds is always an injury risk.

Duncan is worth the risk until a top prospect comes up.

Burke's only advantage over Duncan is his 2B eligiblity. Edmonds is already banged up.

Back to the original question, I think Duncan is a MUCH better pick up than Melky Cabrera. Duncan's power is for real and hitting in front of Pujols he'll see plenty of pitches. Just don't expect him to start every day. He only hit like .170 against lefties last year. However, he should do a lot more with his AB's than Melky will.
