Give me some advice for my team!

Postby baseballmatic31 » Mon Mar 26, 2007 8:34 pm

My strategy going into the draft was that I should take a lot of hitters early and thats what I did...my first 9 picks were on offense which shows because my guys are awesome. I think it has a great balance of speed, power, and average. My pitching is a little lacking though so I was wondering if I could get some advice on how to help that.

Pretty solid team. Also mention that the pitching staff looks pretty good knowing that you started drafting after the 9th rd.

I agree, good speed, and power. Your pitching will produce lots of K's and decent whip/era id say, but probably lacking in wins & CGs. Id maybe give up swish or delgado to trade for another starter maybe with penny for an ace.

How in the world did you get manny and a-rod on the same team?? How many teams in your league?

I like your SP other than Penny. Also, I'm not a big fan of Castillo at 2nd. You expecting big things out of him this year? Personally I would rather go with Kinsler/Weeks/Kendrick if available.

Overall, it looks very solid.

thanks for rating mines

Offense is pretty solid all around. The only guy I don't like is Castillo and Peralta, but it wouldn't kill you much. Pitching wise, I like Scott kazmir. Haren and Santana, and I owned last year and is maturing nicely. The only guy I don't like is Penny, which I also owned last year (for a while), and he pretty much blowed his arm after the all-star game. See what the pool offers as the season goes.

I like the drafting strategy, it's the same I used for my team, drafting pitching late. It seems that it's always easy to put together a pitching staff as the season goes on.

Solid team. Offense has very good balance. Pitching is good but I might try and get another closer. You have a solid staff of middle tier SP though (and I think Kazmir will be a top 5 SP this year personally).
