Cards need a leadoff guy, unless they go after Eric Young @ 2B or let Kerry Robinson start and give him the job.

If they give Kerry a full time job they are gonna finish no better than 3rd in their division.

Well, it's looking like Young or Alomar at the moment.

Rotoworld.com wrote:Eli Marrero - OF - Atlanta Braves Dec 13
Eli Marrero was traded from St. Louis to Atlanta in a five-player deal.
This looks like a pretty good situation for Marrero, assuming the Braves are willing to use him as Johnny Estrada's top backup at catcher. It's entirely possible that Marrero will outplay Estrada and take over the starting job at some point. Marrero could also see time in right field once J.D. Drew gets hurt.
Hee hee

look the Braves have lost any number of bids to land players. We simply dont have as much talent as other teams. What we do have is deep and talented pitching in the minors. I know Dre is a huge risk but just 2 years ago this guy posted awsome numbers and i think if he passed the phisical he´s got a chance to do the same for the Braves.

no doubt drew has some awesome potential. the problem is that he is a free agent at the end of the year and everybody's favorite agent is representing him. if he does end up having a break out season who know what boras is going to ask for. i think he is better off in the AL where he can DH and play some occasional OF.
how ready is wainwright? will he contribute in 2004 or will it take another year of develpment?
rotoworld is speculating that marquis might be traded again before too long. apparently the cards arent too thrilled with him. king is ok but he is tons better than fassero so hes got that going for him.
