I cant believe how undervalued the guy is.

He routinely goes at the end of the 4th round in all my drafts.
I know his BA maxes out at 270, but he will hit 40 HR's and drive in a crapload of runs.

He is by far a safer pick than Mournou and Wells IMO

Why does he always go after them?

to me, morneau and andruw jones are about equal (both early 3rd rounders), with vernon wells following behind (late 3rd to early 4th rounder).

part of the reason why morneau and wells go before jones is not because jones is underrated, but because they are overrated.

my friend and i both agree that morneau is a 40+ 120+ guy, but disagree on his avg. my friend thinks morneau is a .300+ avg hitter, while i think he's more of a .280 hitter. normally, i'd give morneau a slight edge, but this season jones is in his contract year, so i think they're about equal. i guess i'd prefer jones a little more, because he's an OF and will steal 5-10 bases.

wells will be good, but overperformed a bit last season while in his contract year (same reason why i think carlos lee is going too early in drafts this season). i think he'll regress to his previous years' #s.
