Need one more minor leaguer

Postby mak1277 » Mon Mar 26, 2007 5:18 pm

I'm at the tail end of a 30-round keeper league draft. We can carry up to 5 minor leaguers forever (as long as they are rookie eligible). So far, my minor leaguers look like this:

Hunter Pence
Mike Pelfrey
Andrew McCutchen
Jay Bruce
Kosuke Fukudome

Now, I can bring Pelfrey up to my major league roster and take another minor leaguer.

I have the following on my list as possibilities right now:

Ryan Braun
Joey Votto
Scott Elbert

Should I take Elbert, since I have 4 position players? Should I look deeper into the minors and take a guy like Fernando Martinez, even though he's a long way away from the Bigs? Most of the huge name prospects are gone, so I'm a little out of my comfort zone here and appreciate the help.

I like balance between pitchers and hitters in my minors so I'd go with elbert just because of that.

I'd go with Martinez, since he is a few years from development. You can always draft pitching next year.
