Yahoo free league - farm team?

Team A basically just traded Ryan Howard for Derek Jeter (The Jeter guy "threw in" Bonds and Moises Alou)

So now Team B has Pujols and R Howard

(Team A also offered me his Schilling for my Zambrano)

If this is an example of somebody controlling two teams and using one as a farm team, how do they do this and why?

(I have a real league, i just did the free league for fun and to see what kind of team I would end up with.)

if a guy isnt into fantasy and is just a casual baseball fan... getting Jeter and Bonds for Howard sounds like the greatest deal ever.
