Just an interesting article/interview in STL Todaywith Matt that I wanted to share ...

"My velocity had fluctuated to a point where I'd never seen it," Morris said. "I was throwing 83, 84 miles an hour and at that velocity, my mistakes were getting crushed. I wasn't getting away with anything.

"I had a ton of innings early in the season and while my pitch counts weren't that high, we're going to watch that a little closer this year. I'm trying to figure out a way to stay healthy all year and not have shoulder problems.

"I like being the guy to close the game, but you can't do that every day. There are games where you have to come out in the seventh inning and if I have to, I will."

Sounds like a plan to me. Maybe this means that he will rebound this year.

i hope the cards can get him an extension, morris is the guy we need for future especially now that it looks like we have 3 or 4 solid prospects wainwright, haren, narverson, ryan & hawkesworth

sound like the future isnt as bad as all the negative stl fans thought
