Over all I like it. Bailing on saves and targeting holds late is a strategy that is gaining speed, and targeting MR's late over closers early is better value IMO.

That said, your mint for holds with Linebrink, Proctor and Brozton, so ignore anyone saying you need closer help. Line up wise, I would try and ditch Sexons, he's and Avg and OPS killer.1 trick pony worth about 35hr's and thats it.

Weak in steals, but strong in all other cats so overall you should contend in this 8x8 format easily

please help with mine..

Offense needs steals. There is nobody on this team that runs. With the categories in this league, Sexson will hurt you. Move him for some speed.

I like your starters. Relievers will give you hold but no saves. I am not a fan of dumping categories. If you finish first in holds and last in saves, then you average out in the middle. You need to have a chance in all categories.

Hitting looks good. Don't really see many holes at all! SP'ing is okay, not much depth. Sheets is a very risky pick, but if he stays healthy, he will help ya out tremendously. Don't know much about leagues that have points for holds, but ya got the best ones. Team looks pretty good.

thanks for the feedback on mine.

Yeah, I'm not really sure if I like dumping the saves either. My strategy (not exactly sure if it'll pay off) is that some of my picks will end up becoming closers -- namely Kerry Wood. I know that I'm treading water and it'll probably bite me (it is Kerry Wood) but we'll see. That and closers (other then the top tier guys) tend to come and go and if I need one I should be able to find a guy on waivers. But yeah, I don't know if this strategy of mine will work out. It's the first year we've had an online draft so maybe I was just having draft day euphoria... I dunno.

I think you need steals and some more saves. Having one solid guy for holds and a good closer will help you. You also need speed.

i too think the hitting is solid, i'd try and trade one of your hitters along with one of your middle relievers for someone with power/speed combo. Pitching looks solid a little weak in depth especially with the likes of Sheets, Johnson and Wood.

thanks for the help on mine.

Hitting looks great and I like your pitching also. Your two SPs will be great with a healthy Sheets (and it looks like he finally will be). Having to wait for Johnson to come back shouldnt be too much of a problem since Bush/Escobar should be able to do the job till he returns. I would agree with the above comment on being short on steals. Overall though looks like your in for a good season

Never, ever punt a catagory at the start of the season. It just does not make any good sense. Anyone who is telling you that you don't need a closer is steering you the wrong way in my opinion.

That being said, you have a very strong offense, with Sexson being the only pick I don't like much. Pitching has three or fours solid guys, the rest are interchangable with whatever is on the wire. You may want to play the matchups. Definately looking good with the setup guys, but if you continue to punt on saves, it will all be for naught.

saves and spead are two things you don't have, but i do love those bats. You definitely need some more starting pitching.
