On any given picturesque swing of the bat, Drew can be everything Scott Boras, his agent, once promised he would be, back when he was viewed as a once-in-a-lifetime talent. But five years into his career, Drew has never driven in 75 runs in a season, has topped 18 homers once, and has a lower career slugging percentage (.498) than Matt Stairs. He also has just about worn out Cardinals manager Tony La Russa with his assortment of bumps and bruises that all seem to linger interminably. So with his free-agent year approaching and a $5-million arbitration payday apparently in the, uh, cards, it's time. By the end of these meetings, you might hear his name linked with everyone but the Nippon Ham Fighters.
Whats wrong with the Nippon Ham Fighters ..... They have a Bench too ya know... Thats acually not a bad Idea. Let Drew and Boras go screw over the Japanese ...
this is worth repeating ..

England's Worcester Canoe Club set the world record for paddling a hand-propelled bathtub. The 25 man team covered a distance of 55 miles, 425 yards in 24 hours on September 28 and 29, 1979.
I noticed my man Bautista mentioned (waaaay down in the small print). I'm sure J.C. would love to peel off his 3 to 4 million dollars, but I'm trying to figure out who in the "H-E-double hockey sticks" is supposed to be filling in that hole?
I'm sure WR would love to see another Babyback imported from Tucson....

Ryan Rupe - R - Boston Red Sox Dec 11
Ryan Rupe is expected to sign this weekend with the Nippon Ham Fighters of Japan. Rupe pitched well in Triple-A last season, but since he didn't fare so well in one start and three relief appearances for the Red Sox, the team didn't mind letting him go. Source: St. Petersburg Times
What a coincidence! Lmao!
Yes doctor, I am sick. Sick of those who are spineless. Sick of those who feel self-entitled. Sick of those who are hypocrites. Yes doctor, an army is forming. Yes doctor, there will be a war. Yes doctor, there will be blood.....

lmao .... no word of JD signing with them huh .... oh well, soon ..
As a Cardinals fan, I'm envisioning an alternate universe where we would have traded Drew before he became so useless as to only merit Jeff Weaver or Scott Williamson in a trade. What a #@$%@ shame.
The Twins have a glut of outfielders and a desperate need for bullpen arms after losing both Eddie Guardado and LaTroy Hawkins to free agency. So, as a result, the Twins are considering trading Jacque Jones to Arizona for closer Matt Mantei.

I can't see the Twins wanting fragile Mantei and his $7 million contract when there are other cheaper options available.
