Hes got .93 era in spring training and even though i know it doesnt mean too much, its a good sign. How do you see him proforming this year? I got McCarthy and im not too sure about him.

if the choice is between McCarthy and Shawn Hill you are either in a real deep league or you are in trouble. Shawn Hill has average stuff at best, doesn't strikeout much, all he does well is keep the ball on the ground. The NL East isn't as bad as it was a couple years ago, they now have some decent offenses, I won't expect the ERA to be too good, if I'm optimistic I'd say low 4. But that doesn't come with either good WHIP, K rate or W.

Its for the last pitcher on my rotation, its a 14 team league. my staff is

Wait until he's on the DL and then grab him and stash him there. The All Star Break is the latest timetable I heard.

The problem with Shawn Hill is that 10 wins is going to be a stretch. Their offense features Christian Guzman, Brian Schneider, Dmitri Young, Nook Logan (or Chris Snelling) and Ryan Church. Even if he gives you decent numbers in ERA, WHIP and Ks for a final SP, the Ws will be tough.

That said, while I agree on Pedro a a DL player, he won't help for 4 months and I'd rather have somebody with a chance for Ws and Ks vs someone with no chance - at least until ASB.
