I would agree with that, but I would probably move Putz down to the next tier. He's kind of a question mark at the moment for me.

Paps has to fit in there now. I'm still debating on where to slot him in myself. The arm trouble scares me a bit, but he's not alone in that regard. You have to figure lower 2nd tier/high 3rd tier at the worst. Personally, I'd place him after Wagner.

I'm certainly in the minority, but I would push Valverde up into the upper-mid portion of the 3rd tier.

I would also probably drop Lidge down a bit. He's just been too shaky for my tastes.

I think there is a big drop off from tier 1 to tier 2 but after that there isn't much of a difference even between tier 2 guys and tier 4. If your first closer is coming out of tier 6 though I think it's better off just to punt saves for the time being.

Gagne at 6?

Here's a guy that hasn't pitched in how long?

To me, if you're going to take a closer in that range, you need a much more sure thing than Gagne. Best of luck to him though.

Seems awfully low for Hoffman. He's not a good K pitcher, but otherwise he's as good as anybody out there.
