What most people fail to take into account with Burrell as a fantasy player is that, while his average is mediocre and his XBH totals aren't that high, he gets on base. He's had over 90 walks the last two seasons and, as a third OF, he helps to fill out that stat column nicely. Despite his .260 BA last season, his 94 walks gave him a solid .383 OBP.
No one in my league wants to have anything to do with him. He's gone undrafted the last two seasons, and both years I've picked him up and plugged him in my starting lineup as my third OF. His power numbers will go up and his BA will go down as the season goes on, but his 17 walks in 21 games are real.
Between him, Jason Bay and Grady Sizemore, I am expecting 260+ BBs out of my OF.
