Just heard from WFAN that he's out with a grade one Hamstring pull and he'll be out for AT LEAST the month of April.

Trade him to a Yankee fan in your league now before yahoo updates!

TAMPA, Fla. -- The Yankees have lost a candidate to start on Opening Day, as right-hander Chien-Ming Wang will open the season on the disabled list with a Grade 1 hamstring injury. Wang, who suffered the injury on Friday, will be placed on the disabled list following Spring Training and isn't expected to return until late April.

A Yankee fan in my league already has him ... picked him the 7th round (62nd overall). Bad value compounded by injury, ouch.

Wang goes on DL

Postby raygunpunx » Sat Mar 24, 2007 11:42 am

Yankees placed Chien-Ming Wang on the 15-day disabled list Saturday after he pulled his right hamstring while sprinting the day before.

Wang, who was a leading candidate to start on Opening Day, will likely miss a month of action now. "You're talking late April," GM Brian Cashman said. "You don't want stuff like that to happen, but unfortunately it does happen. When they happen, you handle it." This move could open a door for Jeff Karstens to begin the year in the rotation.

Damn, I thought moving Papelbon to the pen clearly opened the door for a Clemens return to Boston but now this makes it cloudy again :-P

A yankee fan is most likely already the one who has him drafted, 6 rounds too early.

I'm a Yankee fan and I pretty much just wouldn't draft Wang.

Now as far as real life goes....

That stings a little.

Jeff Karstens will probably take over Wangs spot momentarily although I always hoped Karstens would take Pavano's job.

In this thread and my over in the trade forum, it seems like most people don't like Wang. Is he even worth owning? He had a good ERA and Wins last season but he didn't have many strikeouts.
