Nice balanced roster. Pierre is the sole source of your speed but other than that it looks good.

Don't see where everybody is getting the "needs more power" from. You have 4 bonafide 30+HR hitters in Ortiz, Cabrera, Wells and Fielder - and all are middle of the order hitters.

Hawpe I definitely like and Iguchi is a top 5 hitter HR-wise for the position.

Seriously, I see enough power in your lineup.

No lineup is perfect, and I see two things that stand out to me.

1) A lack of balance in your SB. Pierre and then virtually nothing.
2) Gordon is HOPELESSLY blocked - and might be better off used as trade bait. No way you sit either Cabrera or Ortiz to give Gordon a look do you?

As high as I am on Gordon - with your lineup this about the ONLY circumstance I'd contmemplate trading him (even in a 1 year league). No way he'll crack your lineup - impossible. Maybe you want to hang on to him and wait till he starts hitting good - but that comes with a risk, as he has trade value right now (named starting 3B) and has virtually no value to your lineup.

Added: the only thing worse than this is seeing people say "you need more closers" , when if you poll them before a draft they'll tell you first hand that Closer is one of the LAST things they draft and something they CERTAINLY don't chase.

Trading (and seriously leveraging) Gordon is about the one thing I would do with your lineup. IMO you can do more to screw it up than to supposedly "fix" it.

Trading Gordon can't screw you up and he has "name" power in trades - as he's one of the top 2 prospects in the game -and has a bona-fide starting gig wrapped up.

Thats what Willingham is for - to spell Cabrera on the occasional day or two =- or fill in for 2--3 weeks if a DL stint becomes apparent.

If you had 1 position I'd address in the power department - it would be Markakis. He's never hit 20 HR in a season even in the Minors - so that would likely be his reasonable ceiling as far as optimistic peredictions goes. He also doesn't run enough to make up for that lack of P-O-W-E-R.

But as a whole Power isn't that great a need that you need to address it before the season starts. As the season progresses then maybe you might need to but I wouldn't feel the necessity to have to do it now.

Do you plan on trading Gordon, and if so are you looking to upgrade the P-O-W-E-R department to make everyone ellse happy?
