could this put the DRays on track for their 1st .500 season?
I'm sure he would have to take a fairly large pay cut. Tampa Bay wants a big outfield bat, so Everett might be worth the risk.
Yes doctor, I am sick. Sick of those who are spineless. Sick of those who feel self-entitled. Sick of those who are hypocrites. Yes doctor, an army is forming. Yes doctor, there will be a war. Yes doctor, there will be blood.....
These would probably be short term deals maybe? They have Baldelli and Crawford already. While Josh Hamilton's future is still up in the air, they also have Delmon Young and Johnny Gomes. Gomes could be ready this year or next, and Young is probably a couple years away. They do have bigger holes than outfield, but I guess maybe they want a couple of veteran hitters to help the young guys along for this year and maybe next.
Shouldn't they try and get some pitching? What they have now is not good.

I wouldn't think Everett is the one to do that.
True, Everett has issues. I'm just trying to come up with reasons why they would want Everett in the first place. With a young, up and coming team (so to speak), I would stay clear of Everett. He could give their offense a boost which could help the young guys production-wise, but his other baggage (which could be distracting in the clubhouse) probably would not be worth it.
If I were playing third base and my mother were rounding third with the run that was going to beat us, I'd trip her. Oh, I'd pick her up and brush her off and say, 'Sorry, Mom,' but nobody beats me.
