30-team draft. How did I do?

Postby Nerfherders » Fri Mar 23, 2007 7:25 pm

Here's my 30-teamer this year (24th pick). H2H points. What do you think?

C- Napoli
1B- C Wilson
2B- Durham
3B- Glaus
SS- Aurilia
OF- Bay
OF- Holliday
OF- Scott
DH- Loney
BN- Langerhans
BN- Amezaga

P- Smoltz
P- C Young
P- C Lee
P- Fuentes
P- S Shields
BN- Gorzelanny
BN- Orvella

I think its pretty good except the 1B situation. Mostly because of playing time. If Nomar goes down I am golden. My clock ran out with my 6th pick and I auto-drafted Lee. It couldve been worse I suppose.

Well, first off, congrats on playing on such a great concept for a league. I would expect more of your worst players to not even be regulars, and you grabbed one of the better backups to own in Loney.

I don't know what another team would even look like in this deep of a league, so I really don't know if I'm looking at a first or last place team. I hate it when people post whole leagues here because it takes waaaaaaaaaaaay too long to understand it enough, but here, you might consider posting another team's roster: the one you think will give you the best competition.

I gotta say, your lineup looks very good all things considered, and I'd believe you have a top OF. You might even consider trading one of your two top OF for multiple players: here's a league where being on the receiving end of a 2 for 1 would be great. Just hold out for something nice like a 1B and another OF. (Helton and Damon?)

Please post the best FAs, too. That'll help us gauge your team. You are realllly going to have to hawk the wire for new starters in your league: if you can sub in regulars on Tuesdays and Thursdays and actually have starting hitters on your bench to cover injuries, you'll be that much more ahead of the rest. Plan to stay up until the late games are over a couple of times a week to be the first to hear about injuries. Competition for a Loney, for instance, would be fierce.

One name to watch for already is Hunter Pence.

I'd recommend http://www.fantasyloungeforums to you, too. It has way less traffic than here, but for a team like this that merits a closer look, you might find that helpful. Here's better for more common formats. (Here's outstanding for more common formats.)

Hope this helps.

Thoughts on mine?
