I'd go Butler, Maybin, Longoria in that order, but I'd be happy with any of the 3.
there hasnt been 1 list where Butler has been ranked over either. in fantasy u want 5 cat producers.... something Maybin is projected to be and Butler isnt.
I think that speaks to the fascination people have with players who will likely be 20/20 producers, which ain't bad but just isn't as valuable as people make it out to be, IMO.
H2H vs Roto strategies also play a factor here, I think.
In my H2H leagues, I'd rather have the guy who will pile up avg, runs, homers, and RBI over a guy who will be adequate in 5 different cats.
The problem with prospect lists are they factor in defense, Butler's biggest deficit. Luckily, in fantasy, defense doesn't amount to much. The only problem is if it forces him into the DH position. I'd be interested to see prospect lists that rank only by hitting.
When you are a man, sometimes you wear stretchy pants in your room...is for fun.

Exactly. No way is Butler in the same list with these 2. But the gap from Maybin to Longoria is a decent one to.
Maybin
Longoria
Butler
Is pushing for President Obama to pass a law requiring all citizens to be Chicago White Sox fans and make October 1st "White Sox Day" where we all dress as our favorite player. It maybe socialist, but I don't care.

Maybin Longoria

it's only because they care about defense a great deal in prospect lists. Butler's bat is definitely in the same area as Maybin when it comes to upside and he's way closer to the majors than Maybin. I'd take Butler no doubt.
