Mayan prejudice is a huge problem in Mexico and Central America. As recently as the late 1980s there was Mayan genocide in Central America that led to the deaths of as many as 200,000 people. Natives in the traditional Mayan areas have been marginalized much the same way that Natives in North America have.
Not that that really has anything to do with the film.
That's exactly why this happened. They got what they wanted. I'm all for it. I'm not a fan of cussing people out and it's not the tact that I would take. But I am for Gibson being outspoken and not bowing to this PC crap.
Maine has a good swing for a pitcher but on anything that moves, he has no chance. And if it's a fastball, it has to be up in the zone. Basically, the pitcher has to hit his bat. - Mike Pelfrey

What PC crap? Not hating Jews?
The questions were provoking, but Mel Gibson isn't a little kid. How could a man in his position possibly react the way he did without having serious anger and ego issues?
"I do not think baseball of today is any better than it was 30 years ago... I still think Radbourne is the greatest of the pitchers." John Sullivan 1914-Old athletes never change.
Maybe Mel Gibson does have serious anger issues. I could care less. I'm no great fan of Mel Gibson the person but this has absolutely nada to do with the comments he made about Jews.

I agree it has nothing to do with the anti-semitic comments, but how is yelling and screaming at someone who asks you a provoking question "not bowing to PC crap?" To me it's simply that; anger issues, and I don't see how he should be admired for it.
It wasn't a single question. Gibson was apparently quite courteous at first and finally erupted after being badgered about something that is ludicrous. I would have flipped out too. Maybe I have anger issues as well.
