How's my offense?

Postby johntudor » Fri Mar 23, 2007 12:23 pm

I know my SPs and closers are way out of whack -- I'm gonna trade to address it. It's a keeper league and I devoted my last 6 picks to prospects for later on. I'm really just curious to hear what folks think of my starting offense and immediate bench players.

11-team 5x5 roto

C: Posada
1b: Berkman
2b: Kendrick
3b: Gordon
SS: Lopez
OF: Soriano
OF: Pierre
OF: M.Ordonez
UT: Hafner
Bench:
3b: Tracy
OF: Quentin
OF: Hermida
OF: Butler
OF: Maybin

SP: Oswalt
SP: Webb
SP: Haren
SP: Smoltz
SP: Hamels
RP: Putz
RP: Broxton
Bench:
SP: Colon
SP: Liriano
SP: P.Martinez
SP: H.Bailey

Some free agents I'm looking at:
Dan Johnson
Peralta
Thames
Ensberg
Marte

Thanks for looking - WHIR ;-D

Your SP are pretty nasty, you will definitely be trading along the way. I like the Liriano pick up.

Your offense needs some work. Posada, Berkman, Kendrick (upside), Soriano, and Hafner are you obvious best players. Your prospects are good, but you do take risks with prospects. I like Hermida and Tracy on your bench.

Offense is nice. I hate Posada, but maybe that's just me. I prefer even Ianetta to Jorge. I love Gordon, however. I think he's gonna be a stud. I thought you were a little weak in SBs until I saw Lopez hiding there at SS. Looks pretty solid all around.

As for the pitching, I'm not even gonna talk about that. Ridiculous. Broxton needs to go, though.

You have solid young guys that should anchor your team for a few years to come.

Nice job.

It's me too. :-[ I'm not nuts about Magglio either.

Thanks for the feedback.

Magglio should be fine, especially for your third OF. He's batting 5th behind Sheff and in front of Pudge. That should make for a ton of RBI opps.

Posada seems to have inflated value, so maybe group some "big name" guys like Pedro, Posada and Mags for better offensive options, such as Piazza or Barrett and a better outfielder.
