Something Going on with Seattle Bullpen?

Postby d18Mike » Fri Mar 23, 2007 12:07 pm

Just linking a few newspaper factoiods from today/yesterday together .... probably nothing, but worth watching.

* Putz's arm is feeling better but is still hurting. He may not be opening-day ready. (Seattle Times)

* Mariners are threatening to not keep George Sherrill on the Big Team He has been awful! He has allowed 50% of ST hitters to reach base).

* There was a Mariners (and Marlins) scout at SanFran camp yesterday apparently evaluating Armando Benetiz.

Does anyone think they will regret trading Soriano for Ramirez?
:-?

Will this mean Morrow gets more time in the bullpen? Do you think he makes the big club instead of Sherril?

I thought they'd regret it the very first time I head of the trade. Then when I heard of the Reitsma signing, I really thought they would regret it, lol.

Not a doubt in my mind, Soriano is legit. The guy has crazy stuff and will be a closer for someone in the near future. (most likely ATL) and will be lights out. I was not very happy when I saw they traded him for a #4-5 starter. Garbage.

And yeah, Putz through yesterday without soreness, so things are looking up. They got a couple of young guys (going blank with names) who they are talking about keeping in the bigs and turning them into the bullpen.

The Mariners should have asked for Devine in the deal.
