Hi I'm Justise the new manager of the NY Mets. I just convinced the whole team to just tear up thier contracts and quit the game. I'm now building a new team with the free agents on the market, since I got 86 million dollars to spend lets go shopping!

1st - Travis Lee - 2.5 Million a year
2nd - Jose Reyes- 500,000 a year
SS - Kaz Matsui - - 6.5 million a year
3rd - Tony Batista - 4 million a year
LF - Jose Guillen - 3.5 million a year
CF - Juan Gone - 7 million a year + 2.5 incentives
RF - Vlad - 14 million a year.
Bench - John Mabry - 1.5 million a year
Bench - Mark McLemore - 1.5 million a year.
Bench - Andres Galarraga - 500,000 a year.
Bench - Plkey Reese - 1 million.
SP - Sidney Ponson - 6 million a year.
SP - Miguel Batista - 6.5 million a year.
SP - John Burkett - 4 million a year.
SP - Greg Maddux - 9 million a year.
SP - Cory Lidle - 5.5 million a year.

There we go, and I come in at around 84.5 million a year for the first year.

how about mike cameron in CF instead of juan gone? i think chad fox re-signed with the marlins before the deadline to offer arbitration. i would also add maddux and kenny rogers instead of lidle and lima. salary constraints might force me to throw in shane reynolds, suppan or someone like that even though i wouldnt really want them. i would also add benitez as a set up man and cut out mike williams. if that forces me to use some minor league free agents in the bullpen then i would do that. i would also cut off some of the guys on the bench. 1.5 million for galarraga is too much. i will take some AAA stiff over that and use the money elsewhere. and i dont think we can count kaz as a non-tender in this case. but other than that its a solid team.

tlef316 was right, ya don't drop a super star rookie for todd walker, I forgot about the reyes dood. So I convince him to come back from retirement for a few seasons.

That, plus paying Galaragga less, I was able to get a few more bucks for Greg Maddux.

as much as i would enjoy seeing juan gone in center, you might be better of with lofton. something tells me he is a little bit more mobile. would save a couple dollars as well.

He won't move more than 5 feet in any direction to catch a ball and if he does, he winds up hurt.
