I think while the market is the way it is, we'll see a ton of 1 year deals for a long time. Teams don't want to lock a bad contract up, and players will hope the market turns around.

Sure Vladdy will get his monster deal for now (at 3/5ths the price of A-Rod) and a few others will get multiple year deals, but not many.
If I were playing third base and my mother were rounding third with the run that was going to beat us, I'd trip her. Oh, I'd pick her up and brush her off and say, 'Sorry, Mom,' but nobody beats me.
