Will Kinsler bat 9th for Texas?

Postby kemper5 » Wed Mar 21, 2007 6:46 pm

Ive seen where he's in the 9th slot behind Sosa, Catalanotto Wilkerson & Laird, I would think he's be higher in the order do to having a pretty good bat..Will he bat last in the order?

While Ian Kinsler could bat as low as ninth against right-handers this season, manager Ron Washington is considering using at the top of the order against lefties.
As suspected. Both Kenny Lofton and Frank Catalanotto need to sit against most lefties, and though Kinsler was actually a little better against righties last year, he is one of the best options to move up in the order versus lefties. The Rangers could also hit Brad Wilkerson higher. Even though he's a left-handed hitter, he's been very good against lefties, with the exception of last year.Source: Dallas Morning News

IMO, he'll be too productive to be a #9 hitter. My guess is he'll be a 2 or 3 vs lefties, and a 5th or 3rd vs righties.

I think their eventual plan is to hit him leadoff. I have him in two leagues this year so I hope that kicks in this year.

I saw the Cubs/ Rangers game today and Kinsler looked sharp. I would keep him in the mix higher up in the order if I were Buck... ;-D
